Surveillance Assignment Operational Procedures
-
Case
Assignment: You submit an investigative request by fax, email, or by
arranging an in person interview. Most surveillance investigations are
scheduled for a minimum of 3 to 5 consecutive 10-hour days, usually beginning at
6:00 a.m. in residential neighborhoods to avoid compromising the
investigation.
-
Letter of
Confirmation: You will receive a letter of confirmation for the purpose of clarifying
and confirming the investigation objectives, dates, times, special
instructions, and the agreed rate.
-
Preliminary
Review:
Each case is individually reviewed and assigned to an experienced
investigator. The investigator will assess the case and then make
recommendations so that the most cost effective and reasonable methods are
utilized to conduct the investigation.
-
Pre-Surveillance:
The subject’s name, date of birth, address and registered vehicles are
first confirmed. Then a comprehensive background investigation can also be conducted if
requested.
-
On-site
Pre-surveillance:
The investigator will arrive in the vicinity of the subject’s
residence and conduct a neighborhood canvass to determine subject’s probable
travel routes, appropriate surveillance positions, and if more than one
investigator will be required to conduct the surveillance effectively.
-
On-site Surveillance:
-
After the investigator obtains a suitable stationary location the
surveillance is initiated and video documentation of the subject’s
activities and the area are obtained.
-
When the subject departs the area, mobile surveillance is initiated.
-
If the subject walks into public locations such as
a fitness center or a
shopping mall, the investigator will initiate surveillance on foot and obtain
hidden video documentation of the subject’s activities.
-
The investigator will provide you an update
at predetermined times and make
recommendations, when appropriate, so that the most cost effective and
reasonable methods are utilized to successfully conduct the investigation.
-
The investigator will maintain surveillance on the subject until activities
cease for the day, unless otherwise directed by the client.
-
Final Procedures:
-
When the investigator terminates the surveillance, the video is
reviewed, a written report is prepared, and both are submitted to our office.
-
The investigator’s report and video will be reviewed and checked for accuracy.
-
We will then begin to duplicate and label the video into the client’s
preferred media format and the original video will remain in OnVideo's
possession unless otherwise directed.
-
The final report, video and invoice will be shipped to our client.
